Get Miton.

Pre-release builds

Miton is currently in active pre-release (Phase 1.7 in progress). The pre-release build includes the chat, the model layer, the four-lens surface system, sub-agents, skills, the free multi-provider gateway, and the local-first guarantees.

Pre-release builds are released as tagged binaries on the GitHub releases page. The team signs and notarises (where applicable) each build.

Build from source

pnpm install
pnpm tauri dev

Prerequisites: Node 20+, pnpm 9+, Rust 1.74+, Xcode CLT (macOS).

System requirements

• macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon and Intel)
• Windows 10+ (x64)
• Linux: Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 39+, Arch (current)
• 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended for local models

Once you've installed

1. Launch Miton. The Welcome frame appears with the four-lens onboarding.
2. Pick a lens (Makers, Writers, Power users, Developers). You can switch any time.
3. Either connect a model key (BYOK) or use the free multi-provider gateway. No credit card, no account.
4. Describe what you want to build. Miton opens the right workspace and starts.
