What this accomplishes

The Features destination gathers useful tools and project views that sit beside the main work loop. It gives you one place to compare models, inspect activity and spend, browse additions, and keep an eye on work beyond the active project.

Features is an app destination, not another working mode. Chat remains the place where intent starts; Canvas, Writer, Automation, and Code remain the specialised workspaces for completing the work.

Current availability

This page documents behaviour verified in Miton development builds. Miton is still pre-release and is not publicly downloadable; invited beta users will receive a signed desktop build with automatic updates.

Career listings and AI Radar items use network feeds when available. Links to listings and sources open in the system browser rather than inside the Miton workspace.

Before you start

  • A Miton development build.
  • A connected model for model comparisons, model recommendations, and recap generation.
  • An active project when you want project-specific usage, activity, or cost views.

Open Features

Open Features from the app shell. The Hub groups the destination into Tools, Dashboards, and Explore. Preferences and configuration remain in Settings; cards in Features take you to the relevant view without turning that view into a new workspace mode.

Tools

  • Matchmaker recommends local models that fit the device and the way you work.
  • Blind Compare runs the same prompt through several models without revealing which model produced each response until comparison is complete.
  • Marketplace lets you browse and install themes, skills, workflows, templates, and MCP servers.

Dashboards

  • Model Finder starts with a curated shortlist and can search the full model catalogue.
  • Scorecards show model quality over time and highlight movement between updates.
  • Insights covers usage patterns, model activity, and project progress.
  • Costs shows spend and connected account balances. Set limits in Settings.

Explore

  • Career starts with AI-focused roles and can broaden the list with filters for location, work style, job type, source, and skills.
  • AI Radar collects model releases, research, and product moves worth tracking.

What success looks like

You can open one destination, choose the tool or dashboard that matches the question in front of you, and return to the active project without changing its Chat session or working mode. Empty or unavailable network-backed views explain what is missing and keep local project work available.

Common failures and recovery

  • A dashboard is empty. Confirm that the correct project is active and that the relevant model, score, or usage data has been collected. Refresh the view when it offers an update action.
  • Career or AI Radar has no current items. Check the connection and retry later; these feeds are network-dependent and do not block local project work.
  • An external link does not open. Confirm that the operating system allows Miton to open the default browser, then try the link again.
  • A preference is missing from Features. Search for it in Settings. Features is for tools, dashboards, and exploration; configuration remains in Settings.
