What this accomplishes

Manage permission policies that control which directories Miton can read, write, or run commands in.

Current availability

This page documents behaviour verified in Miton development builds. Miton is still pre-release and is not publicly downloadable; invited beta users will receive a signed desktop build with automatic updates.

Before you start

A Miton development build and an active project.
A connected cloud or local model, plus any credentials or local runtime required by this task.

Steps

Open Settings and select Security.
Review active permission grants (read-only, read-write, command execution).
Toggle Ask for permission to require approval for commands you have not pre-approved.
Add or remove paths from the allowed directories list.

What success looks like

A trust badge in the status bar and approval prompts in chat for gated actions.

Common failures and recovery

Repeated permission prompts: Add the project path to your trusted directories list.
Accidental approval: Use the Rewind panel in the right sidebar to restore files to the previous state.
