What this accomplishes

Register for beta access and understand how installation will work. Miton is in pre-release and is not publicly downloadable yet.

Current availability

There is no public beta build today. Miton will not ask beta users to compile the application from source. The beta release gate covers signed desktop downloads and automatic updates inside the app.

Before you start

  • An invitation to the private beta once access opens.
  • A supported Windows, macOS or Linux computer and a model provider or local model runtime.

Request beta access

  1. Open Get Miton.
  2. Enter the email address where you want to receive an invitation.
  3. Submit the request. Miton stores an HMAC index and encrypted email address, not your IP address, browser string, referrer or tracking parameters.
  4. Wait for an access email. There is no marketing drip.

When access opens

  1. Follow the private download link for your operating system.
  2. Install the signed Miton desktop application.
  3. Launch Miton and complete the first-run model and project setup.
  4. Install later releases through Miton’s automatic update flow.

What success looks like

A signed desktop application that opens to first-run setup, then prompts you to create a project or open an existing folder from disk. Update checks happen through the application rather than manual reinstallation.

Common failures and recovery

  • No invitation yet: Access is not open. A successful request records interest; it does not promise immediate entry.
  • The form fails: Retry without privacy extensions that block first-party requests, or watch the repository for release notices.
  • An installer link is missing: Platform builds remain unpublished until their signing and release checks pass.
  • An update fails after access opens: Keep the current version installed and follow the recovery instructions included with that release.

Create and understand your first project after the invited build is installed.
